I have trouble getting my WD-20 to work in NINA. I had a skilled person do a screen share and he got everything tuned up and working except when it came to the mount. He has spent 5 hours of shared screen time mostly trying everything possible to get the WD-20 to track. All the drivers are up to date. The WD-20 will not track or slew manually in NINA. It will not track or slew with the remote either. The flashing blue light comes on that says that it is tracking but it is not tracking. If you choose an object and slew to it in NINA the mount will respond and slew to the location. If you press Park in NINA after slewing it will go back to the Home position. I’m attempting to set up my initial focus so I can get on with focusing my OAG and then finally using my telescope to photograph. I’ve tried for months to get this worked out and it’s driving me crazy. Has anybody had the same problem? How do I get my WD-20 to start tracking? Can I possibly have a faulty circuit board in my WD-20? I bought my WD-20 in July and it is now March and I still haven’t got it to work. I have another scope so I’ve been ignoring this problem but it will not go away and it is costing me photographing time with my Celestron 11" edge HD. I can’t solve the problem and neither can the person that is a NINA expert. All the latest software and drivers are in place and recognized by NINA. The WD-20 just doesn’t track! Please if you know the problem help. If you don’t know how to fix the tracking please refrain from commenting so an expert from WarpAstron can address this problem. I might have a faulty mount? The last time I reached out to WarpAstron about this problem they told me to read the manual. I hope they have improved their customer service since last year.
Hi,
Sorry to hear about this. We understand how frustrating this situation can be, and we want to clarify a few points to assist you further.
After reviewing previous support records, we found that you previously contacted us about this issue. At that time, we provided guidance on enabling tracking before slewing the mount, which is an essential step for the WD-20 to operate correctly. This process is also detailed in the Quick Guide. Based on your response then, you mentioned you would follow up with us if the issue persisted. Since then we did not hear back, we assumed the problem had been resolved.
We’d like to emphasize that we are here to support you and address any ongoing concerns. To move forward, here are a few suggestions:
- Ensure Tracking is Enabled :
As mentioned earlier, tracking must be enabled before slewing. Without this, the mount won’t follow objects after slewing. Could you confirm if this step was followed during your setup process?
- Blue Light Indicator :
The flashing blue light shows that the mount is in tracking mode. If it’s still not tracking, there may be a configuration issue.
- Support Ticket :
We recommend contacting us via our support mailbox so we can work with you more efficiently step by step. Additionally, we can arrange an RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) session if you’d like, to directly inspect your configuration and determine whether the problem is related to tracking settings or something else.
From the description you provided, it appears the mount is responding correctly to GOTO and Park commands, which suggests the hardware is functioning normally. Nevertheless, we will investigate all possibilities thoroughly once you provide us access via a ticket or RDP session.
Thank you.
