WarpAstron WD-20 carrying 72mm Refractor and 10" Newtonian scopes

Just found the forum so though it would share my initial feedback / thoughts so far after a few tests.

Ok lets gets the bad out of the way first, and that the Ascom driver - it’s certainly not the best and needs some tweaking by WarpAstron to be able to do simple functions like changing the guide rate etc. The GPS module is also very poor and desperately needs an external antenna to get a good lock on gps.

Now for the good stuff…So far i;ve tested 2 scopes, a little 72mm refractor and a 10" F4 newt and the mount handled both really well.

Without any tweaking i saw the guiding on the 72mm down as low as 0.27" and averaging 0.35", the bigger newt despite it’s18kg weight and general large size wasn’t far behind averaging 0.41"-0.45"

These were achieved in phd, using pretty much out of the box settings and there are several tweaks that i have not yet tested such as Multi-Star guiding and changing the guiding rate to 1.0

In summary a great mount that guides really well with heavy loads, but definitely needs some work to update the driver maybe to the latest OnStepX and improving the GPS.

Cheers,
Rich.
