The Rainbow mount fixes its dovetail clamp with four bolts on a 35-mm pitch. This is the same as Takahashi and their saddle mounts for their telescopes.
It is a shame that the WD20 chose something similar but different. Otherwise, for a dual scope arrangement, I could remove the WD20 clamp and put a bar directly across the mount for a saddle arrangement.
Many users already using dual scopes, it’s not a problem for the size as still many others brands and equipments using 38mm, you can easily get related adapter from market.
Wow, many thanks. That is quite some setup.
I have the very same long Losmandy plate, which I used on my Paramount. It’s even the same colour;)
My only thoughts were that I could remove the WD20 clamp and bolt the plate directly onto the four fixing holes, reducing the overall mass and reducing the angular moment of the load as it was moved closer to the RA axis. For Tak owners, they could bolt their scope saddle plate directly to the mount after removing the WD20 clamp.
Kind regards
